Are we a sleeping or dead Body?
A few years ago we had to rush our daughter to hospital and ended up in a cubicle in the “Trauma Room” (what an apt name for such a place).
In the cubicle next to us (hidden by a thick curtain), there was a man having a heart attack. Sitting there, hearing what was going on was alarming and we momentarily forgot why we were there.

There is a stark reminder of the fragility of life when a defibrillator is used to revive someone.

Now, I am sure most of you have seen one of these at least in the movies but for those who haven’t, it is “an apparatus used to control heart fibrillation by application of an electric current to the chest wall or heart.”   When you have to be revived, it means you are dead and need to be brought back to life.
So often I see prophecies about ‘revival’ and ‘a great awakening’ that God is going to do in His people.
Yet as a Body, we have to ask ourselves:

“Why are we dead, so God has to use a ‘supernatural defibrillator’ with electrical current (His Ruach Ha Kodesh – Holy Spirit) to bring us back to life?” and
“Why are we asleep, so God has to keep waking us up?”

Beloved, what is going on in our ‘spiritual chest walls and hearts’ that we keep on dying and keep on sleeping?

It is written:
“Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.”
Isaiah 60:1
