In August 2018, I had (and shared) a dream on Facebook – of a mass dangerous event coming. It was a tough dream to share, especially amidst floods of other messages of the next great awakening, or revival or blessing that was and is coming. The last couple of weeks – as I saw almost in a surreal way, how people were filling their trolleys to the brim with tinned food in response to COVID-19 (and the subsequent various lockdowns across the world), I was reminded of this dream over and over – and felt prompted to go back to it and unpack it, spiritually. Herewith a reminder of the dream:
“I dreamed that I was standing on a shore of a beach, watching intently into the distant horizon. There were many people around me scattered in different places but I knew in the dream that we were all connected to one another – the people all felt like ‘family’. I sensed that all the people represented the children of God.
Behind me was a huge house (the Church), which belonged to all of us (the Body of Christ). As I stood there, I strongly sensed that a Tsunami was coming. It was not a Tsunami of revival (as we have often heard of such tsunami’s) – but in the restlessness of the waters there was hidden and harmful danger coming that stemmed from rebellion and the Anti-Christ spirit.
There was a large group of our people swimming in the sea and they were surrounded by large sharks (greedy, aggressive people), waiting to unexpectedly attack them. The seas represented the spirit of this world (nations) and I knew that these people of God were not going to make it, they were going to die. I then saw a vision in the dream of the Tsunami happening and as the waters subsided afterwards, there were many dead bodies strewn all over, with a sense of disillusionment by God’s people about just how unprepared we were for that.
I then looked back and suddenly saw underneath the foundation of the house (the Church) and when I turned around, I saw a picture of tinned food in front of me – and I realised we had made no provision for food at all!
I believe this is double in meaning – both spiritual and physical food, but I am going to focus on the spiritual. We should have been prepared and stored food in the foundation of the House (the Church, our lives, ministry), then we would have been more prepared.
The foundation is symbolic of Jesus Christ, the foundation of the Church and also He – as the Word of God. The ‘tinned food’ is symbolic of stored food – the Word of God in us – memorised, known, written on our hearts, ‘stored’. In seasons to come, there is going to be much harmful attack on the people of God concerning the Word of God.
As the spirit of Anti-Christ continues to work to set up the stage for things to come – and rebellion and lawlessness increases in the world, many of God’s people will spiritually starve because they are not taking heed to the signs and are not discerning the times. Beloved, we need to stop swimming in the world! NOW is the time for us to get the Word of God ‘stored’ inside of us. This takes time, use it wisely, for it is running out. There is no more time to delay or for excuses.”
I apologise in advance if this message is a bit longer – but seeing that none of us are going anywhere at the moment, I thought you would be able to read something meatier. We all know by now that life as we knew it before, will not be the same again. This should have grown us, in the very least. I keep hearing people say that they can’t wait for life to be back to normal again. To us as a family, we honestly don’t really know what “normal” is – but what we DO know, is that life will not be the same again for many of us. God is certainly challenging the way we have been thinking about a lot of things – including how exactly the last days will play out, and just how complacent many of us have become with the words “last days”. So often in the many theologies (basically meaning “man’s study of God”), with all our attempts to box God into our way and our interpretation of Him and His Word, we learn time and time again, that whilst He is our Perfect Heavenly Father, He is not a God Who can be ‘boxed’.
There is definitely some opportunity here for us to dig much deeper. We can either metaphorically come out of “house arrest”, like the Apostle Paul, having written letters to the Church (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon!) in whatever way we have been called to do that by God. In other words, to keep fulfilling our calling according to God’s will for each of us (since we are not all called to write such letters) – OR we can come out having wasted away from this time of “isolation”. If this does not shake us, then what will?
Scattered in different places
Scattered definition: (adjective) “occurring or found at intervals or various locations rather than all together” OR informally, meaning “distracted or disorganised”.
I remember so vividly in the dream how God’s children were scattered and I remember the terrible feeling I felt in my stomach at the realisation of just how scattered we were. What an apt description: “rather than all together”, or “distracted”. I promise you that this message is not a “doom and gloom” message and that there is hope. Yet, we have to look at this world wide crisis with honesty and with open eyes. For the first time in a very long time, it seems as if all the Countries in the world have been “levelled” through COVID-19. Yet, for us here in Africa, difficult times are not that uncommon, so perhaps that gives us a voice to speak.
As medical experts across the world are assessing the situation and attempting to predict the “curve” of COVID-19, economists are likewise attempting to predict the effect of the economy. It is our responsibility as the Body of Christ to assess this situation through spiritual eyes and to ask our Father for a way forward.
Back to being scattered, for some time know, it has become evident to me how scattered God’s people have been, and just how unprepared we have overall been found out to be for this world-wide situation. One thing that has certainly been exposed – if we are vulnerable and take off our “spiritual masks” momentarily – is just how much we were NOT ready for this. There has been a sense of disillusionment about this event. Yes, definitely amongst those who are in the world and who do not understand the times – but also amongst God’s very own children. Not everybody – but many in the Body. How do I know this?
As this has unfolded in the last few weeks (for us here in South Africa), we have probably all received several videos, audio messages and more about the season we are in. I am speaking specifically about those that came from people within the Body of Christ. With it, came a fair amount of what some label as “conspiracy theories” about the “real” source of this Coronavirus. Whilst some people have gone to the side where it seems they have lost their marbles (LOL, just a small little joke), there are those who have no idea what is going on at all – and classify everything and everyone as a conspiracist. There are so many interpretations, so many theories, so many ‘prophetic words’ – so which is it, and why is it that we all seem to be so confused and do not have the same message?
We know undoubtedly that the Word teaches us of such things (‘pestilences’, Matthew 24) happening in the last days. To me, personally, in the spirit – something about the timing of this virus seemed really “off” from its onset – and it felt like the enemy had plotted and schemed to bring this about ‘out of season’. This would be to expedite his anti-Christ plans and roll-out, through a rising up of lawlessness, rebellion and the spirit of the anti-Christ operating in the world. Could this possibly explain why so many in the Body were completely taken by surprise by this happening? Yet, knowing our Almighty God, I know that God is always eternity ahead of the enemy – and whatever is meant for our destruction, God can turn around for our good. Every single time, without fail – ever!
In the Body of Christ specifically, there too have been many versions of the source, to list only a few here (I have personally received or read about these as theories). I don’t present these as truth to you – but merely as food for thought, to give you a snapshot of what I am talking about:
- The Coronavirus was created in a lab by scientists in China – in collaboration with politicians from the U.S.A. – who want to overthrow President Trump. This, in turn, would accelerate the Anti-Christ agenda.
- Some have said that the specific Coronavirus came from bats. This was predicted by medical doctors already in early 2019 (these research papers are easily obtainable with a simple Google search). Interestingly, the name of this bat, is RaTG13.
- One prophetic lady said that God had showed her that each outbreak of these viruses tied in with the Chinese Calendar, the animal Zodiac and the eating of these animals – sometimes whilst still alive. Think Swine Flu; the year of the pig – Avian flu; tied in with the year of the Rooster; and now COVID-19, tying in with the year of the rat (through a bat, named RaTG13, according to some medical experts).
- “5G is the reason for the Coronavirus through radio spectrum radiation” – an audio message which has been doing the rounds, as well as a YouTube video. This version in particular has caused many fights on social media between Christians. Yet, what I have personally seen is that many of these ‘experts’, are not experts medically or even technologically, and sorry to say this so directly – but so many (not all) seemingly don’t know what they are talking about. Many have very little or no medical understanding of what a virus is, and just how destructive it is. There are simply too many inconsistencies and contradictions in this theory that cannot be proven presently – even if there are certainly partial truths. In saying this, I understand that we cannot be ignorant about 5G and its dangers and the stark contradictions in research – but we have to be impartial when we do research, or we will run with messages that are not from God. It also makes us look very foolish in the eyes of the world. These messages also create fear and confusion amongst God’s people. In that, we are missing possibly (besides hidden health issues), the greatest threat that will ultimately come with 5G – which is our privacy, and the freedom associated with having that privacy – especially to live out our faith in God in the future.
On the flipside, you would have to indeed have almost no discernment to NOT see that things about this whole situation just does not “stack up”, for instance the large-scale attention that this one virus has received. There are so many irregularities – and we can almost know undeniably that there are sinister things going on in the background – all whilst the world is distracted by COVID-19. Things we will only see much later unfold.
I wasn’t really looking for this information to be honest, I only happened to come across it as I was researching many other medical things (a personal interest) whilst doing a write-up for another project. I would say that we should watch and pray into this particular issue, therefore I am making mention of it specifically. One thing that is pertinent to me – is the issue of vaccines and its role in the future – and no, let me assure you upfront that I am not a hippie-type-anti-vaxxer! Unbeknownst to many, politics and vaccines are inextricably linked. Did you know for instance that many Pharmaceutical Companies in the vaccine industry fund political campaigns of various politicians? Is it not always so, that when one brings in the issue of money, man’s heart is so easily corruptible? Just as this virus has already killed many people, make no mistake, pharmaceutical companies will make a killing off this vaccine financially. As it is written: “For the love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10). Much of this is about money, greed and power and ultimately – that which is anti-Christ.
One can safely say, that it is indeed extremely odd that someone as prominent in the world as Bill Gates are expediting building and totally funding 7 factories (stated on a recent interview with Trevor Noah) in the race to manufacture a vaccine – and that ultimately it is the aim for these vaccines to be compulsory. 7 billion people vaccinated with a particular aim of being able to track and trace, would give one some food for thought in the least. As someone said (jokingly), “…he could not even prevent viruses in Microsoft, what is he doing trying to solve viruses in the world?” (just for a bit of humour with such a heavy topic). If you go do even a little bit of solid research, you may just even be surprised about the almost flippant way in which this is actually quite well known! Many are aware that Bill Gates may have a Non-Profit Foundation that spends a gigantic proportion of their money on solving worldly challenges and philanthropy – but strikingly, in this case, it is known fact, that he has no medical expertise or background in these things, and has also made some definitive statements about depopulation (from his own mouth). Without being a conspiracist, one has to consider the greater agenda behind this. In spite of these things, God ALWAYS wins. Mr. Gates has an unfortunate surname in this case:
“…and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
In making mention of this particular issue, there are also other Countries that are in the race to develop a vaccine/antidote. There has been some prophecy surrounding Israel in particular. Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and let’s watch and pray to see what God does.
Whilst all this may be some “food for some thought”, as with everything in life – its an issue of FOCUS. Where do we focus? Who are we fixed on? Whilst our focus is shifted too much on the world and we are distracted (one of the definitions of what it means to be “scattered”), spiritual viruses will keep spreading spiritually in the Church with eternal consequences. Our aim is not to try and spread messages that bring about confusion and fear. This virus is not as contagious as the Gospel. The antidote is still 100% Jesus! It is good to have awareness, to be prepared, to know, understand and discern the times – yet, we can run away with messages that can end up being more harmful in the longer term to God’s people.
Which brings me back to tin food. Tin food is great in times of emergencies where fresh produce is not attainable, but be careful what you store in your heart and mind and spiritually. In the natural, tin food is usually stored in aluminium cans. These cans are known to carry trace amounts of aluminium that can leak into food. In larger quantities aluminium is known to cause neurological problems and can even cause Alzheimer’s. Sometimes when tin food is manufactured, the food is not picked when it is ripe, and it is said that it can have up to 80% less nutrients than fully ripe fruit and vegetables. Added to that, in some Countries the manufacturing facilities are not as hygienic or inspected regularly enough.
If we apply that to spiritual food metaphorically – we need to be careful what we store inside of us. Some of these messages have traces of “spiritual aluminium” in them and can cause spiritual neurological problems – the greatest one being, that of no longer having a sound mind. Go back to basics and focus on God’s Word, it is always fresh and ripe and has 100% nutrients. Be careful where you get the “food” from – who has “manufactured” it? In other words, be careful of unverified sources, especially people who are unwilling to identify themselves. Don’t even spend time on messages or “words” that are unidentifiable – otherwise you may also be held accountable for spreading things that cause confusion, fear and suspicion in the Body of Christ. Be careful what you listen to and what media you expose yourself to.
In the natural, try and buy tin food from reputable sources where you know there are good hygiene practices in place. You would have to eat a lot of tin food, for it to make you sick – and even so, pray over everything you eat. God will protect you. I merely stated the aluminium in tin food cans to draw on the issue spiritually. Don’t fear, God is near.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18
Admittedly, these lockdowns have felt like a type of “last days emergency drill” to the coming future new world order. Almost like we are having a “test run” to that place and time in the world where every move will be monitored and controlled. This situation has seemed a little overwhelming – even if just momentarily, until the faith arose, we took authority over and cast that thing out. That is of course, if we are vulnerable long enough to be honest. Not all fear is all bad, it’s the “spirit” kind that’s bad (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear can sometimes save your life, it can be a natural form of protection in God’s design. Like, when you see a bear in the forest, for instance. Most people will respond in one of three ways – fight, flight or freeze. If you are like biblical David, you will probably fight and take the bear (or lion, for that matter) out. Other people might run for their life away from the bear – and even yet others might freeze if they see a bear, unable to move at all. One can almost see these three reactions on social media and in life generally, and I don’t mean in any way to make light of this. Some people are fighting with everyone right now, now there are vehement arguments about pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation and post-tribulation interpretations of the Word – people are tripping themselves (and others) up over this. Yet, are we READY either way for what is to come? If this is merely a “practice run”, are we busy preparing ourselves to be ready, as the end is drawing nearer daily? Others are planning to build a bunker or to disassociate from the reality of the season we are in (flight), usually through many forms of “escape” in the ways of entertainment. Others are frozen and feel an inability to move forward at all and are fear-stricken.
Many people have revelation upon revelation, but they never change how they think – and then they get stuck there. There is something powerful that happens inside of us when we have a revelation of the love of our Heavenly Father – and it changes the way we think and feel. There is a continual perfecting that happens in us, where fear no longer has such a hold over us. It’s often progressive and grows with character, trial and persecution – which gives us perspective. The kind of inner knowing that says: “My Father in Heaven loves me, He knows about me, He knows about this and He has got me safely under the shelter of His wings. I do not have to fear”.
Yet, in saying that, we must never forget that God is also holy – and we cannot separate His love from His holiness. We have become too familiar with God and the ways of God. There is one type of reverential fear that is life giving – and that is, the fear of God. When one Pastor was interviewed many years ago because he had lost the Way, he was asked “When did you stop loving God?”. His answer was: “I never stopped loving God. I stopped fearing God”. What we need as a Church, is for the fear of God to come back into the Church. This right now, is such a powerful reminder for the Body of Christ. God is a God of love, yes – but also of holiness. A spiritual Coronavirus through messages of false-grace, prosperity and the seeker-sensitive type Christianity has been infiltrating the Church for decades, it is only that it has now manifested in the physical and we see the damage to the Body.
I also realised that actually if we think this over with a sound mind, in hindsight especially – that in at least the last ten years (with a much greater intensity in the last two), that God has all along been expanding our capacity to handle the unknown, to handle the uncomfortable and to handle the uncertain. Whilst the world thinks that we are now fighting an ‘unseen enemy’ in the form of this virus, we know that as God’s people that has always been the case!
That even when everything we have known is being shaken and about to be more shaken, He is never, ever leaving you. He is still in control. He is the only One Who can stop this virus. He is Sovereign and His kingdom never ends! One of the greatest fruits right now that we can offer the world, is peace – but we can’t give it if we haven’t got it.
There are some prophetic voices who have equated or compared COVID-19 with the plagues in Egypt, as in the biblical days of Moses. I thought it important to make mention of that here. The correlation that has been drawn, is that, during the ten plagues, God was showing the Egyptians the futility of what they worshipped, by drawing parallels between the specific plagues and their deification of these things. For instance, one of their ‘god’s’ had the head of a frog, named ‘Heket’, since they revered frogs as sacred, God sent them a plague of frogs.
As it is written: “And the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me. But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with frogs. So the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls. And the frogs shall come up on you, on your people, and on all your servants.” (Exodus 8)
Yet, Pharaoh took no heed to God’s Word, the frogs croaked perpetually as they consumed the lives of the Egyptians – but their false god, ‘Heket’, was no-where to be found, and could not spare them from the plague.
Fast forward to our time and we will see how the things that we have deified, has been removed, albeit temporarily during this COVID-19 issue. I am not going to go into too much detail here, I am almost certain we all already know. I am also very sure that someone else in the Body has already written extensively on all these things. So, the nutshell of it – what could these false “gods” be?
Entertainment (TV, Movies, Sport, Music, Smart Phones, ‘Video’ Games…)
As I think about entertainment and what to say about this (that we don’t already know, but do not apply), I am reminded of a few years ago. We were in a prayer meeting at someone’s house, and I remember I felt God impress it upon my heart to share with the saints an audio message by David Wilkerson. It was a word about distraction, and in particular he went into detail about hours and hours of watching Television. Also, about how it had become an idol and a type of “altar” in our homes. I remember how intently everyone listened to it and shouted “Amen” loudly in agreement. A short while after the prayer meeting, I went with one of the moms to go and help with her kids. We were gone for about ten minutes and when we came back into the lounge, there were all the saints – sitting watching TV, eyes glued on the football (soccer). I don’t know if you have ever watched someone who is watching TV (especially kids). When you look at them, they almost appear to be in a dissociative state (there is some science attached to this, which I won’t go into here) – but they seemingly have an almost “hypnotised” look on their face.
In that moment, that night, I realised that we have a much bigger problem here than what we care to admit. People scoff at the mention of “mind control” through the various forms of media, but it is almost like when you talk about this, people switch off and become dissociative immediately. Are we not just like the Egyptians being plagued with the things they worshiped? Have we not too had these things “come into our houses, into our bedrooms, on our beds, into the houses of our servants, on our people, into our ovens, and into our kneading bowls…”? Just like Pharaoh many of our hearts have become so hardened, that we do not heed the call of God in this area of our lives. Whilst the economy has been hard hit, others are out on the frontline in the medical field or trying to run essential services, many have lost any form of income and people are hungry and desperate – it is grieving to hear from so many that they are so “bored” to have to be inside their homes, that they are catching up on more…entertainment. With the Egyptians, there was no escaping the frogs, except to surrender to God. At least they realised they were covered in frogs – but for many of us, we simply do not even see it. We don’t see that we are plagued with our idols and the branches of those false gods, in the form of entertainment.
For so many in the Body of Christ, this has also transposed into Church. As one man of God said: “We want to be entertained on Sunday instead of instructed by the Holy Scriptures; we want to hear music that sounds like the secular music of the day that often has little Word of God in its lyrics instead of a sermon of fire that rightly divides the Word of Truth. We leave church in a hurry because we want to be entertained by the football game that starts in an hour. Preachers fear that they will lose their congregation if they don’t entertain them. Sermons are watered down so they don’t offend anyone, but Jesus Christ offended everybody – as the Sword of Truth disrupts the systems of the world including religion. The ‘god of entertainment’ has sunk its idolatrous roots into the Church – and each of us should pray and examine our hearts that this idol is not sitting on the throne of our hearts.” (Goodness of God Ministries)
As most of us have been confined to the walls of our homes, spending money has become something we have only been able to do for essential goods and services. May we deeply reflect on that, as there are many that are suffering. In the next few months, we will all need to “tighten our belts”.
In the natural (with a real belt), that only becomes difficult if you are fat. In the spirit – it becomes difficult when you have had too much false comfort and you have now lost some of that comfort. A skinnier person doesn’t have such a problem with tightening their belt! We have been too comfortable with all our luxuries and our incessant cravings perpetually create discontentment in our lives. We need to become less, so He can become more.
For some people, “essential goods and services” is a way of life (that is literally all they have). Perhaps it’s time for us to understand that we have become too “over” on this side of things. May the only “Heavyweight” in our life be God – so that He can truly be over us.
[Additional note: Please hear my heart, I am not talking about people who are struggling with weight issues – due to weighty issues (or medical issues). I am speaking metaphorically about luxuries and our “fatness” regarding that – but yet, too, for some of us who are overweight because of having too much (gluttony).]
“One man” worship
With the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, the Levitical priest system from the Old Testament was transformed. Now Jesus Christ is our High Priest – and because of Him, we are all priests and members of the Body of Christ (1 Peter 2:9, 1 Peter 2:5, Revelation 1:6, Isaiah 61:6). We all form an integral part of this Body and cannot function without one another. Yet, one doesn’t have to look too far to see how the function of “Pastor” has become almost the central focus of most Churches today. I know many Pastors who are God-fearing, Spirit-filled people of God – and I am not coming against the function of “Pastor”. What I believe God wants to highlight, is the worship and ungodly elevation of such a person – and that function as the only leadership role in the Body. There are also many parts of the Body who absolutely gets this right, but the “one man” worship happens at a very large scale, so much so, that it has created not only a pattern – but a precedent for others to follow in, especially for younger ministers.
We have elevated the pastoral function to a level which was never intended by God and cannot be found or supported in the Bible. The early Church did not function like this – and make no mistake, God is bringing order to His Church again. Now, as we are all confined in the four walls of our own homes, may we once again realise that we are too are priests unto God, that we are all called to service as willed by God. That we are all to study the Word for ourselves and live it out. It is not for one man to carry the burden of ministry, no wonder so many Pastors are burning out. It is not for us to go to Church, listen to one man’s sermon and to call that “Church”. That is not Church!
We as mankind were not created to be worshipped. If you look at many celebrities in the world who become worshipped by man, they either die prematurely, become insane or end up in many different types of addictions. It was never God’s intent for us to look upon one man as a ‘celebrity’ with such wonder and admiration, it puts immense pressure upon such a person which is only something God Himself can carry. Only God is ever to be worshipped and looked upon for salvation. God is calling us as His Body to function in our part, to play our role in this end-time harvest and to stop our one-man, Pastor-worship.
Imagine just going to Church services and hearing messages each week but we never change, we never grow into spiritual maturity. What is it for? Sure, we may be feeling encouraged, edified even – but how does that transpose and produce fruit in our lives? It has to, for if it doesn’t, we are just wasting time. When we stand before God one day, we will give an account for time spent. Pastors can’t do this alone.
“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.” Acts 17:24
When I was a child, in my young mind I think I believed that God lives in the building that we call “Church”. I imagined Him playing the piano with sophisticated heavenly fingers when we had all left – and then waited for us all to come back again the following week!
Then I truly became born again, and God did some growing up in me – and I came to understand that God lives in me, and He calls that His Church. That I am His piano, His vessel of worship that He plays through. That I am His building. A living stone, not made of bricks.
Now, in us not being permitted for a short season to gather in Church buildings, God is still speaking. Church buildings have become an idol to many. In the early Church (you can find that in the book of Acts), if one had to ask a fellow believer: “Which Church do you go to?”, they would probably have been perplexed by your question. Some of the fastest growing Churches in the world (for instance Iran), do not even own buildings.
There is, of course, nothing inherently wrong with having a building – but do you hear His heartbeat through this? I just wanted to remind you that God does not live in your Church building, He lives in your heart. Having been removed from there for a short season, can be to our benefit. Whilst fellowship between the saints is extremely important to God (and us), and it is very difficult not to be able to do that – we do not have to be together physically to be united spiritually. Through technology, God has made it so possible for us to still connect – we need to start getting creative with all those platforms that others have used for years in the business world. Also, how amazing will it be for us all to be together again. How will we appreciate it in a renewed way!
There will come a time where those buildings that we are in might fall or shut down, one way or the other. Let us prepare our hearts now, so that if that comes, we will KNOW we are moving the Church with us wherever we go, or wherever we are. We are the Church. His presence will be right there with us – and even if we pray or sing together from different places in the physical – we are singing to the same Almighty God in the spiritual. There is a great glory in that! May we be shaken free from all idols and rituals that have hindered us!
“But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple”. Rev 21:22 NKJV
During the first Passover, when God commanded the Israelites, to sprinkle blood on the lintels and doorposts of their homes – it brought about the Divine protection over their lives and the lives of their people. It brought about LIFE. This is in stark contradiction to the blood on the doors of the world (especially through Planned Parenthood), which is absolutely stained and dripping with the blood of the murdered unborn. It has brought about a spirit of DEATH over the world. Did the powers of this world really think that God would not respond with the blood of those murdered children crying out to Him?
If we look back again at the instructions that were given to Pharaoh just before the first Passover, Moses was instructed to say to him:
“Let My people go, that they may serve Me.” (Exodus 8:1). As we, as God’s people, now have been released from so many things that has hindered us, and we too are “quarantined” in our homes just like the Israelites – may this spiritual principle manifest in our lives too – that we may serve Him.
In relation to blood, I felt it apt to share that Medical Teams across the world are working on plasma transfer. Based on smaller studies done in China during the COVID-19 outbreak, there are currently further studies and trials being done in what is called convalescent plasma therapy. When one removes red and white blood cells and platelets, you are left with a clear liquid, which is called plasma. Plasma contains virus-fighting antibodies that can fight disease. Doctors are hoping that just like with other diseases, this plasma from people that have recovered from COVID-19, will help those with severe COVID-19 to recover. How amazing that science is always catching up with the Word of God – that “life is in the blood”. How glorious, because for us – everything hinges on the New Covenant in His Blood (1 Corinthians 11:26).
There is something different about this Passover (finishing on the 16th April this year). There is a huge expectation in the atmosphere that God is going to move in a mighty way on the earth. In some way, perhaps because the world is under a plague again. It seems that it is often only in times of darkness, that we remember so deeply that sacrifice of the Light of the world. May we press in deeper into this Passover – into the Passover Lamb and His truth in this season and those to come.
Is Jesus cleaning out the “Temple”?
“Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” Matthew 21:12-13
It’s been hard to watch how prosperity gospel preachers have been peddling excessive tithes and offerings during this lockdown. It’s been “business as usual” for many Churches. People have lost their jobs, some are unable to feed their families and extended families – yet these leaders seem callous to the season, in pursuit of their next sports car or Armani suit. One certainly has to wonder if God Himself has shut down many “Churches”, that are actually corporations with corrupted CEO’s – and people have blamed the government for closing it up. Perhaps God is reminding us, even yet again, that as one woman of God so aptly said, “Jesus didn’t die to give us lifestyle, He died to give us life”.
The Medical Field
We absolutely honour our God for those who are in the medical profession, who have been on the physical frontline of this unseen war. We thank them for hours and hours of work, sacrifice and giving of themselves and their expertise. Praise God that He has raised up, even amongst His own children, those who are there – working under incredibly difficult conditions. May He cover them under the shadow of His hand. We must remember though, that the medical world can treat our symptoms. In the case of COVID-19, there is simply nothing the medical field can do to cure even one person. What they can do, is to treat the outworking of the disease in the human body.
The W.H.O. (World Health Organisation) has their logo as a rod with a snake intertwined on it (this is known as the “rod of Asclepius”, it makes for an interesting Google search). Parallel to that – in the biblical days of Moses, the Bible tells us how God sent fiery serpents to punish the Israelites for impatiently and complainingly speaking against Him and Moses (Numbers 21.) Just shortly before that, God had delivered his people from slavery in Egypt of over 400 years (including the amazing miracle of the parting of the Red Sea!). It is further written in the Scriptures, that God’s people came to Moses, confessed their sinfulness, and asked Moses to pray to God for them, which he did:
“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.” (Numbers 21)
As this healing was playing out with God’s instructions, the Israelites (like us) seemingly had a propensity towards idolatry. Instead of worshipping the Healer, they ended up worshipping the bronze serpent on a pole. It even had a name (given by King Hezekiah), named Nehushtan (meaning “a brazen thing, a mere piece of brass”.), indicating the futility of worshiping it. Parallel to that, we thank God for that mercy of the Medical field, absolutely – but ultimately, we do not look to the ‘snake on the rod’, we look to the Great Physician.
” And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”. (John 3:14–16).
We cannot look to the W.H.O. but to the One WHO created us. As we wash our hands to wash off germs, bacteria and viruses – may we simultaneously ask God, through repentance to cleanse and purify our hearts of this idolatry of the bronze serpent on a pole.
In this season, I have truly felt the heart of God wanting to draw us back to repentance. Repentance has become almost like a ‘curse word’ in Church these days. May God expose hidden sin in our lives in this season, and may we repent to our Father in Heaven. So often there are hidden little things – thoughts, words, incorrect motives and actions that bring destruction in our lives and draw us away from God. I believe God wants us to examine hidden sin and areas where our view has been obstructed in our lives, in this season. If you do a “Google search”, there is a little picture of a magnifying glass on the side of your screen. As you type in what you are looking for, thousands or possibly even millions of results will come up. Ask the Holy Spirit to search you, shake you, to place a spiritual magnifying glass on your motives – and to reveal anything that is there, that is not from Him. Now that so many of the distractions have forcefully been removed from us and we are not busy, our hearts have to return to God through true, heartfelt repentance. We have to proverbially D-Germ (or “Lysol” in some Countries), in other words disinfect our hearts – and ask God to remove our self-imposed masks that so often hides true issues.
Our younger people – The iGen generation
One thing that is very evident in this age and season we find ourselves in right now -is that the enemy is after our children. Even as we are finding ourselves in lockdown, there are those in politics trying to push abortion laws and sex education programs, all whilst the world is focussed on COVID-19. What are some of the evidence that there is attack on our children?
- From Planned Parenthood (taking their lives out already in womb time) – so many are dead, even before they arrive;
- to Sexual Education systems (prematurely sexualising them, leading to early sex – and inevitably more money for Planned Parenthood);
- the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ systemic indoctrination (destroying their core sexual identity);
- to socialism, humanism and post-modernism (giving them a false sense of identity, the worship of the creature (man), rather than God, and an anti-authority belief system – intended to instil rebellion and lawlessness against any form of authority).
In a nutshell, it could be summarised as the most terrible systemic child abuse that we have ever seen. How easy it is, to make light of the “iGen” generation – but I honestly have to wonder how we would have done under the pressures they have had from an early age. It is true that many of our children are seemingly selfish, yet they alone are not to blame for this. Perhaps I will write more on that, another time.
Young person – you only have to take one good look at the world right now, and know undoubtedly that socialism is not the answer to the problems of the world. Man will always oppress man on the earth, as it is now. No perfect ‘system’ has ever been established under mankind. Yet, our children and young people have been indoctrinated with these ideologies since their early school days – and somehow, they almost seem veiled/blinded to the dangers that lie in this. For so many, this is no different – even in the setting of the Church. It has been the sowing of very small seeds disguised as ‘human rights’, that has grown into a massive tree of destruction. Many of our children are biblically “illiterate” in the context of humanism and post-modernism – since it obstructs their view from understanding the Word of God.
Many cannot see the strategy of the enemy behind the scenes. They cannot see that socialism will be progressive. That the liberal spirit is synonymous with the spirit of the Anti-Christ, it is exactly the same thing! That if this is pushed too hard and too fast – they themselves will be instrumental to help usher in the eventual One World Order. Under the system of the Anti-Christ, it will be the worst form of Communism that the world has ever seen, led under the Anti-Christ himself. Oppression always leads to rebellion and lawlessness (a sure sign of the End Times). They miss that Communism historically, has shown us one thing undoubtedly – it will always end up with a pile of dead bodies, usually millions. Yet, many cannot see that they are being trafficked invisibly – and used to be pawns in what will eventually destroy them.
It sounds like a grim picture – but I truly believe with all my heart that there is a remnant of young people that God is going to use to bring others in and back to Him. He is going to open the eyes of His remnant who surrenders to His authority – to SEE as He sees. A generation of such young people born for such a time as this, who are a part of God’s last days mighty army.
We need to keep seeking the Father’s heart for our young generation and lift them Up to Him. We need to remind them that God has a plan and purpose for their lives – even as we find ourselves in pressing times. Pressing times call for extraordinary people. God did not make a mistake with the timing of these children being on the earth in THIS age – He has a perfect purpose for each one. His hand is very much upon them. In so many ways, things are easier for them – yet equally, in so many ways, things are so much harder for them. They need to know that He knows about their hopes and dreams – and that they need to absolutely have hopes and dreams and hand them over to the Heavenly Father to fulfil! That they need to separate themselves to study the Word, pray and fast – and to draw near to Him in this hour. They need to align themselves with His will. All the world has to offer, turns out empty – and in the end the most exciting journey, is to be His child. God has a certain way of making things happen in our lives.
We must remind them, teach them that they have skills that the older generation don’t have – and we need them to fulfil their part in the Body of Christ. As an older generation, we need to come alongside them and help them. We need the voices of those who have come out of the world, to come forward and alongside other young people – to drown out the voice of the enemy, who is trying to destroy the kids as young as possible. We need teachers, and those in other places of authority, where they have been given a voice, to rise up and speak for our children. I cannot thank God enough for those who are FOR them, whose hearts are pure and right before God. I want to plead with you to please keep fighting for our children, for they are indeed very, very precious to God.
Difficult times ahead
There is talk of a “global recession”, loss of jobs, lawlessness through looting and crime, hindrances to education, starvation in some places in the world – and more. In the beginning of this message, I said that when I initially had this dream in August 2018, there were many words published about the next great awakening, or revival or blessing. Perhaps, in all this, we will realise that those things will happen, but there are difficult times ahead. They will happen in a difficult season for God’s children. Yet, this too shall pass. Ask any farmer – “harvest time” is always preceded with lots of hard labour. We have to roll up our sleeves and get ready for this harvest – because in this hour where much has been taken away in the natural, people will again cry out and hunger for that which is supernatural.
Where to from here as the Body of Christ?
Restoration of our first Love – returning of our hearts
Perhaps if I could sum up everything I wrote, it could be summed up in 5 words: “Return to our first Love”. If we have gained that out of COVID-19, then we have gained truly everything. One of the most important things we have in this life, is time. Now God has given us some time. In hindsight, perhaps we will realise that sometimes when we lose what we have had, we realise what’s truly important. We are reminded about what life is actually about, what our true purpose is. During this season, we need to turn back to God again – for one reason alone – because we love Him. To many of us, that means going ‘back to basics’ – studying the Word, worshipping and praying daily and fasting regularly. Remembering that we are here to know Him – and to make Him known.
Restoration of joy to the Body of Christ
I believe God wants to restore to us again the joy we have in salvation. Nothing added, nothing taken away – just pure salvation in Christ alone! There is something powerful about joy. As I was typing this, I saw a whole army of God’s people in the frontline of the battle, filled with so much joy that it filled the whole atmosphere, and the enemy was completely confused. There is a great mighty power in worship. When a whole army of people get together filled with joy, the enemy will run. Listen, remember that you can’t die if you’re already dead! Also think back in the Bible – there was a time where God sent a choir to the battlefield (go read up on that in 2 Chronicles 20). Even if you lose your life here on earth, you will only go to sleep – and you will open up your eyes in Heaven. Through many difficult life challenges, so many of us have become despondent Christians. We have been doing all the ‘right’ things – but our hearts have lost so much joy. May Father again fill our hearts with joy!
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” John 15:11
God also wants to restore our strength – through us being in His presence. As the pressure is from without in the world right now, may the joy of the LORD be the strength from within. May we truly use this time wisely to be in His presence, so He can recover many of us from the outworking of the hardships of life.
So, so many people have died. I was reading about an elderly man who passed the opportunity of receiving assisted breathing through a ventilator. He gave, so someone else younger than him, could live. The nurse who wrote it, shared how she watched this old man die in front of her eyes – with not one family member or friend there to comfort him, due to the strict I.C.U. rules concerning COVID-19. She watched as he spoke his last words of “I love you” to his elderly wife over his mobile (cell), phone and breathed out his last breath. This nurse wept alongside his bed at the pain this family was going through. So many people have severely been affected by COVID-19. In the U.S.A., one born-again doctor (through a mutual friend), shared that bodies have to be removed with refrigerated trucks from hospitals – due to the sheer volume, which undertakers cannot deal with.
Children of God, let us not turn a blind eye to the deep pain and sense of loss. Let us join hands in being a well-functioning Body to alleviate people’s pain. With all the conspiracist theories going around in the Body of Christ (especially those that the Coronavirus is not ‘real’), it makes us seem very callous to those who have lost loved ones – and so much more than that. May God have mercy on us for not always representing His heart.
Give – and then – give some more
In this season, where the world finds itself in the grip of economic challenges, as God’s children, this is our opportunity to shine in the area of giving. We all have something to give, no matter how small. Your R20 (about 1$ or close to 1£) – could mean bread for someone else for one extra day. We can all actively help in small ways. Especially by continuing to pay our staff, wherever and however we can.
Give what you have right now in your hand. Be present in people’s lives, even if it is long distance – phone, WhatsApp or video call. Think of ways to lift off burdens off other people.
There is also a warning in this season to those who abuse the kind heartedness of others in seasons like these – remember that those who give, have worked very hard for the money. We all go through tough seasons where we need help – and as a Body it is our call to help those in need. Yet, the kingdom of God does not work on the principle of socialism – but on multiplying and producing that which God has given us – people who just take, will always remain poor. If you ask, make sure you truly need, and you are not only asking because you are discontent with tough circumstances. Make sure you give, in return too.
Reconciliation of relationships
Before Facebook issued a “graphic content” warning on sharing of video clips, I once remember very briefly seeing a public execution of three Christian men. I couldn’t watch it for long, as I am quite sensitive by nature. In the few moments I watched and read the caption, it showed these men were being burned alive by Islamic extremists. It was like you would cook a large animal over fire and it was because they were Christians. It really affected me and I thought about the reality of that. The one man was still alive, desperately trying to get away from the fire, but he was bound, and there was no way (humanly) that he could – but the two friends next to him had already perished. I had to look away, switch it off.
It made me think of how tough our walk has been, and I thought of all the people that we had lost along the way (not due to death, but due to relational challenges). I wondered in that moment, if one had to stand there waiting to be executed and you saw those people around you – would you not want to make things right? Would some of the things that happened – compared to eternity – not fade into oblivion?
I believe in this season, that it is the Father’s heart for us to reconcile with people that have hurt us – whether that be in ministry, with family or with friends. It is true that in certain cases, we have lost people relationally – and that has been to our gain, from an eternal perspective. In cases of abuse, control and manipulation, it does not mean we submit to those things, or open ourselves up to further abuse – but sometimes reconciliation needs to be mental in the very least, so God can bring about healing and fruit of that healing. Pray and ask Him to reveal to you any such person or persons and as you feel Him laying this on your heart – act on it.
“Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” – Matthew 5:23-24
We can pray that things don’t happen before it’s time
God has appointed seasons and times! These things we are witnessing must happen and are part and parcel of the Scriptures, playing out in front of us. It doesn’t mean we lie down, give up, crumble under evil or fear or spread ‘aluminium-traced messages’ – it means we shine brighter than ever. As the light of the world under the Light of the World. So then, if we have to momentarily ‘go out’, then in the very least, we don’t do so without a fight! We have to rise up as the Body of Christ!
Pray for our Country, our Cities and our leaders
The Word teaches us that when Daniel was studying the writings of the prophet Jeremiah, and he came to understood that the timing of the end of their captivity was indeed close, he was not in the position to have a Church meeting, or even to watch the news. He couldn’t quickly have a Skype or Zoom meeting. His nearest and dearest were also, like him, in bondage – but yet the Bible says in Daniel 9:3 that this is how he responded:
“Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.”
May we too, like Daniel, discern the times and respond accordingly. As it is written:
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, or kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” 1 Tim 2:1-2.
Those small little parts of the Body
Thinking especially here of all those believers, who are on ‘lockdown’ with small little children in their homes, and the challenges that come with that. I want to remind you, that what you are doing in your home right now, is just as important as someone behind a pulpit preaching the Gospel. You are metaphorically on the pulpit of your life with a smaller congregation – with eyes and ears wide open! Right now – you are making little disciples. You are raising, teaching, mentoring and raising up a godly generation. Make no mistake, that God is very much just as much in the raising of our children and seemingly mundane activities of our lives, as He is in the big things. All those spills, messes, ‘refereeing’, sibling rivalry (and more) is not all that uncommon to God – just look at His own children! The disciples lived with Jesus every day, every moment of the day, for three full years before they were released into ‘full time ministry’. What you have in front of you right now, is the opportunity to love your children through what may even feel like ‘chaos’ – and don’t believe for one second that you are not adding value to the Body of Christ. What you are doing is precious and matters to God. So, go on – and love WELL! Because God IS love!
A warrior Bride – not a worrying Bride
I am so reminded of a time where people got together to do evil in the eyes the LORD – and God Himself had to put a stop to them because of the power of agreement and being united in their cause (tower of Babel – Genesis 11). As God’s people, let’s be united. Let’s preach one message – the pure Gospel. So many are not born again and should they perish in these times, they will go to a Christ-less eternity. No amount of darkness can expel light. Let’s not use the authority that we have in Christ to destroy each other – but to destroy darkness. As we look at how the world stick together to perform evil, how much more, if we all have to draw near to one another for His great cause? Come on Bride of Christ, come out from amongst them! When Jesus came into Jerusalem and the multitude began to rejoice and praise God, the Pharisees tried to put a stop to them. But Jesus answered and said to them: “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” (Luke 19:40)
Here we are, look how a small, tiny nano-particle of a virus is already crying out:
“Where are you?” Come out! Come out! Come out!”.
Let’s join hands and hearts and do the business of our Father, whilst it is yet day. The harvest is ready. It is no wonder then that one of the meanings of the name “Corona”, in Latin, is “crown”.
“God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him”. James 1:12
“…Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life”. Revelation 2:10
Preparing the way – the Triumphant Entry!
I also want to remind you, finally, beloved children of the Most-High God – that even in this season, we are preparing the way for our King to return. Hosanna in the Highest! As we are now half-way into the Passover time, I am so reminded that when Jesus made His way into Jerusalem onto a colt, the crowd took branches of palm trees and some lay down their clothes for Jesus – they prepared the way for Him into Jerusalem. (Matthew 21:1–11, Mark 11:1–11, Luke 19:28–44, and John 12:12–19). Likewise, so are we preparing the way for the Way, for His imminent return. May we too lay down spiritual palm tree leaves (victory over sin) through our relationship with Jesus Christ – and also our clothes (our spiritual preparation) for His return. May we remain clothed in the heavenly covering and presence of Christ, His righteousness and salvation.
On that day, over 2000 years ago, the way was made for our King to go into Jerusalem on a colt (a young donkey) with such humility – but there is coming a time, when all has been fulfilled according to the Scriptures when our King will be on a white horse:
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16
